Accomplishing Your Goals

We all have dreams and ambitions. We want to live our lives as if it were a movie and feel like everything has fallen into our palms, but it's never that simple. There are goals that need to be set and reached, over and over again in order to be in the position that you dream to be. A saying that stuck out was hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard, so to help out the talented, we need to understand how to work harder.

Winston Churchill was quoted on saying, "Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm." Your attitude toward failure can make or break your endurance to reach your goals. If you perceive failing as a result from yourself, that implies that you're doing something wrong, which sometimes you are but it promotes a self-defeating kind of mentality.  If you perceive failing as a way of life, and that things may never work out the way you want it to, you recognize that all it takes is time and maybe some tweaks to your performance. Nothing ever happens out of thin air, so don't always blame yourself, sometimes the spark waits on a change of thinking.

You have to want it more than you don't want it. This is life, everything will either take your time, resources, priority, or all of them plus more, and we would all love if we didn't have to utilize these things in order to reach our goals. But there is a tipping point where desire surpasses the cost of success, and we begin to perform better in every way. Once we've reached that mindset, there is a feeling of devotion and connection towards our hopes and dreams. There is a feeling of purpose, and that you personally have to fulfill it.

Another step in the right direction is to rethink your perception of roadblocks. As humans, we sometimes let things appear bigger than they actually are, letting them sink into our heads and influence our decision-making skills. Fortunately, we can limit this way of influence on ourselves by intervening in the process. When things seem bad we can take a step back from the situation, and read it as it actually is instead of inflating it. This tendency relieves the sense of being powerless and reignites the urge to face through problems that may come in the way. Once you've maneuvered around those obstacles, no matter how far or wide, you become closer to the goal you've set.

To wrap it up, success is earned by those who seek it the most, so when failure endures, just keep pushing through. There are many stories of people doubting their own skills and abilities, and feeling the world on their shoulders, to turn out to be some of the most successful people in the world living their dreams in reality. These people kept their dreams alive through all the hardships they've faced, and in the end, they are the ones who accomplished their end goal.

  1. I totally understand what you're saying. Understanding your goals, and having the drive/ambition to achieve them is important. I especially liked how you talked about the perception of roadblocks. Are there any roadblocks that you've ever had to deal with and if so, how did you?

    1. Thank you. For me, roadblocks never seem to end, it's honestly about how you approach them though. If you approach roadblocks being impatient and reluctant you're only going to make things harder the next time. If you approach them as a way of possibly learning something new or just another pebble on the mountain, that will always promote growth and curiosity.
